Launch of Intravenous Fosfomycin Commercialization in the United States
The commercialization of intravenous fosfomycin has begun in the United States. This hospital-use antibiotic is a key treatment for complicated urinary tract infections and is being introduced through a strategic agreement between LABORATORIOS ERN and the pharmaceutical company Meitheal Pharmaceuticals, a specialist in the commercialization of generic and biologic injectable products.
Intravenous fosfomycin was approved by the FDA for the treatment of complicated urinary tract infections in October 2025. Subsequently, in April 2026, its commercialization was authorized under the name Contepo® (intravenous fosfomycin 6 g), marking a major milestone for Laboratorios ERN.
This launch represents a significant strategic achievement for Laboratorios ERN, as it takes a decisive step in its international expansion and reinforces its ability to develop and bring high value-added hospital products to market in collaboration with leading international partners.
